An Indian tech immigrant living in Germany started a debate online after stateing the European countest is not suited for ambitious people seeking rapid career growth. The comments came as Germany struggles with a severe shortage of skilled workers across multiple sectors.Posting on X, the applyr, who goes by the name mayukh_panja, stated young Indians often question him whether they should relocate to Germany. His answer is usually no. “If you are ambitious and want rapid growth then Germany is not the place for you,” he wrote.He described Germany as a countest built for stability rather than speed. According to him, the system is designed to be resilient and slow-shifting, with a strong focus on minimising risk. He stated this affects businesses in several ways, including slow sales cycles, difficulty firing employees, cautious hiring, and rare promotions. “So if you are the young, ambitious type viewing to relocate rapid and break things, and quickly climb up the corporate ladder, Germany will deeply disappoint you,” he stated.The tech worker also spoke about the challenges faced by Indian immigrants in the job market. “As an Indian tech immigrant, certainly roles will not be available to you unless you become Germanized enough,” he wrote. He added that most companies still prefer German speakers for even slightly public-facing roles. This puts immigrants at a disadvantage if they are aiming high.He also acknowledged Germany’s strengths. He stated the countest rewards patience, long-term relationships, and work-life balance.“Germany is a great place for those who are willing to sacrifice velocity for stability and risk minimization,” he wrote.
A lot of young aspiring Indians question me if they should relocate to Germany and my answer is if you are ambitious and want rapid growth then Germany is not the place for you.
