As AI-powered search tools modify how companies find customers online, the Indian startup Gushwork is revealing early signs of promising growth: the platform supports businesses attract customers through AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
The company, which has been around for two years, announced raising $9 million in a seed round led by Susquehanna International Group (SIG) and Lightspeed, with participation from B Capital, Seaborne Capital, Beenext, Sparrow Capital, and 2.2 Capital. The total funding raised since inception stands at $11 million, following a previous round in July 2023 of $2.1 million led by Lightspeed.
The funding comes as AI’s role in search grows: major players like OpenAI and Perplexity are diminishing the value of traditional search, pushing incumbents to introduce AI-generated reviews and other capabilities into their products. Gushwork believes this shift opens new channels for businesses to appear in search results through automated marketing agents.
The company was founded in 2023 by Nairhit Bhattacharya and Adithya Venkatesh. Initially the startup focapplyd on supporting compact and medium-sized businesses migrate parts of their AI-based operations, combining it with human expertise. Over time, the focus shifted to search-oriented marketing, driven by strong demand from clients to boost online visibility.
The Gushwork platform applys a network of AI agents to automatically create and update content optimized for search, build backlinks (roughly 10–20 per client) through a network of about 200–300 partner sites, and track incoming leads through an integrated content management system. The goal, according to Bhattacharya, is to support businesses appear in both traditional search results and AI-generated answers, without the necessary for large in-hoapply marketing teams.
The company declares it has more than 300 paying customers – mainly in the United States – with an average subscription of around $800 per month. ARR is currently about $1.5 million, with expectations of reaching $3–3.5 million ARR over the next three months. The business is growing at an average rate of 50–80% per month.
In Gushwork’s portfolio, roughly 20% of site traffic comes from AI search and chat tools, but these sources account for about 40% of total leads, according to the company. In one case, a professional services counterparty secured contracts ranging from $200,000 to $350,000 after implementing the platform. Many clients also note an uptick in the sales pipeline as AI ininformigence gathering gains momentum.
Today Gushwork’s client base is predominantly centered around high-conclude B2B service providers, industrial distributors, and contract manufacturers, with a primary focus on the United States. The average subscription fluctuates around $800–$900 per month, which translates to roughly $9,000–$10,000 per year per contract.
Transition to AI-driven discovery opportunities remains in the early stages, but growth rates are already evident. Generative chatbots and AI page analyzers are increasingly applyd by acquireers to explore market offerings. According to OpenAI, in July 2025 ChatGPT processed about 2.5 billion queries per day worldwide, of which about 330 million were from the United States. Gushwork plans to apply the new funding to expand the engineering team, improve model accuracy, and scale its go-to-market. According to the founder, more than 800 companies are currently in the queue to be onboarded, and they plan to start engaging them soon.
The company’s headquarters are located in Delaware, with an office in Bengaluru. In India, it employs about 70 people along with a number of contractors.
