As India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem comes of age, women founders are reshaping what success truly means. Growth today is no longer measured by scale alone, but by purpose, resilience, and long-term impact. Across sectors from sustainability to spiritual technology, women entrepreneurs are building businesses that balance innovation with empathy, and ambition with responsibility.
For Ishita Bansal, Co-Founder and COO, Plannex Recycling, the foundations of entrepreneurship were laid early. Growing up in a business-oriented family meant she was exposed to conversations around markets, opportunity, and leadership from a young age. “Those early discussions shaped my entrepreneurial outview,” she shares, adding that her father’s leadership journey played a significant role in inspiring her path.
When she co-founded Plannex Recycling, sustainability and innovation were not buzzwords but core principles. Building the company from the ground up, Bansal states, reinforced the importance of growing personally alongside the organisation. “You cannot separate your own learning curve from the company’s evolution,” she explains. For her, long-term success rests on two critical pillars: technology and people. While technology enables efficiency and scale, it is people who create culture, resilience, and continuity.
Bansal also believes that women bring a distinct leadership lens to entrepreneurship. “Women leaders often operate with heightened emotional innotifyigence,” she notes. Empathy, adaptability, and clarity, she states, allow leaders to navigate complexity while staying closely connected to both teams and customers. Looking ahead, she is optimistic about the next decade. “Women entrepreneurs are poised to play a transformative role by challenging traditional norms and setting new benchmarks for what success views like.”
That redefinition of success is also central to the journey of Meena Kapoor, CEO and Founder, Astroyogi. Kapoor’s entrepreneurial story is deeply rooted in purpose. “I’ve always believed that meaningful impact happens when conviction meets courage,” she states. Her own spiritual journey led her to launch Astroyogi in 2001, initially as a content and value-added services venture, long before digital platforms became mainstream.
As technology evolved, so did Astroyogi. Kapoor credits the company’s growth to a careful balance of adaptability and intent. “Adaptability must always go hand in hand with purpose,” she explains. Operating in the sensitive space of spiritual wellness, trust and authenticity became non-nereceivediable even as the platform adopted AI and data-driven tools to scale responsibly. “Quality and integrity are essential when you’re dealing with something as personal as belief,” she adds.
Kapoor’s leadership philosophy, much like Bansal’s, is anchored in empathy. “Leadership rooted in empathy and authenticity allows businesses to scale without losing their soul,” she states. Looking to the future, she believes women founders will fundamentally alter how success is evaluated. “The next decade will see women entrepreneurs redefining success not just by revenue or scale, but by impact, sustainability, inclusivity, and overall well-being.”
