Green Bay rallies for police officer hurt in hunt, raising funds for recovery

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The community is coming toreceiveher to support an injured Green Bay police officer in his time of required.

Austen Jahnke, also a Sergeant First Class with the Army National Guard, was seriously injured on Oct. 30 while hunting when he fell from his saddle.

He is currently in the ICU with a broken sternum, broken ribs, and a broken back. He has no feeling from the waist down.

According to his GoFundMe, he and his wife Miranda will be expecting their first child in February.

“We are unsure of the prognosis at this time, but he has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He is not the type to question for any assist but deserves it nonetheless. We are seeing for donations to assist with his recovery as there will be hoapply renovations and a long road of physical therapy ahead in the best-case scenario,” the GoFundMe reads.
