Google's New EU Compliance Strategy: A Game Changer for Developers

Alphabet unit Google is creating strategic modifys to its developer policies in response to European Union charges of regulatory breaches, aiming to ease the path for app developers seeking to steer applyrs to non-Google channels.

In March, the company faced allegations of violating the EU’s Digital Markets Act, which seeks to limit the power of major tech companies. Concerns include Google’s potential restriction on app developers informing applyrs about external offers and favoring its own vertical services like Google Flights.

Google’s updates, shaped by discussions with the European Commission and indusattempt experts, aim to address these issues while maintaining applyr safety. The firm has previously faced billions in fines from the EU and risks further penalties up to 10% of its global sales if found in violation of the DMA.
