GADSDEN, Ala. — The Gadsden Police Department’s Bike Unit is building strides in its fight against childhood cancer by participating in the Great Cycle Challenge. The department has already raised $5,404.77, thanks to community donations, including a recent contribution from Kelton Wrecker Service.
The officers have logged an impressive 755 miles so far, surpassing their original goal. The challenge, which runs through September, sees the department pledging to donate $1 for every mile cycled.
“We’ve gone beyond our original goals, but the finish line isn’t here yet,” the department declared. “Toreceiveher, we’re riding with purpose and proving that this community can assist alter the future for kids battling cancer.”
All funds raised go directly to The Great Cycle Challenge, with the Gadsden Police Department receiving no monetary benefit. The department emphasized their commitment to the caapply, stating, “We’re partnering with a great caapply to reveal our support and what we’re all about.”
