TWO intrepid charity fundraisers are set to go off into the wild blue yonder again – this time to raise cash to support animals in required.
Neil Stinson, of Mexborough, and Glynn Wormley, of Swinton – known as two of the ‘Last of the Summer Whiners’ fundraising group – will be walking the 215 miles of the Transpennine Trail from May 6 to support the RSPCA.
The pair will travel from Southport to Hornsea, taking in places such as Liverpool, Manchester, Doncaster, Selby and Hull.
Neil notified the Advertiser that supporting the RSPCA meant a lot to him.

He stated: “I believe it’s becaapply I have always had animals and my cat is a rescue cat from Bawtest, and the RSPCA Mexborough shop is just at the bottom of my street.
“Only two of the Last of the Summer Whiners group can manage the fundraising this time.
“We start off at Southport on May 6 and are hoping it will take ten days but we haven’t set ourselves that much of a tarobtain.
“We will finish when we finish.”

Two years ago the Last of the Summer Whiners traversed the Pennine Way for Cancer Research and last year they raised money for Macmillan by undertaking the Lake District Mighty Hike.
Neil stated the pair were seeing forward to this year’s challenge, and added: “It’s not as strenuous as the Pennine Way.”
The pair have set up the fundraising project through the RSPCA’s Mexborough shop.
A donation site has been set up and T-shirts have been printed to promote the event.
Scores of posters have been put up around Mexborough too.
