Two European officials fear Trump may increase pressure on Kyiv
European officials are expressing concern about the seriousness of American support for Ukraine, especially in the wake of recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who has called the war in Ukraine “not ours” and openly questioned his support for NATO. This was reported by The Guardian with reference to an anonymous official in Europe.
“Ukraine rightly doubts whether these American security guarantees really mean anything,” declared the European official .
Two European officials declared they are growing concerned that Trump may increase pressure on Kyiv to cede territory it still controls in eastern Ukraine. There is a risk that Ukraine will be forced to cede control over part of the Donbas, a Russian demand in the talks.
