U.S. President Donald Trump has been speaking against NATO a lot during this second presidency, and he did it tonight in his nearly 20-minute speech to the nation at prime time, mostly about his war of choice in Iran that is now about to complete its 5th week. He chastises European countries for rejecting his request to utilized their military bases in advancing toward U.S. objectives in this war which Trump started with Israel against Iran without alerting Congress or NATO. See my post about this yesterday: Trump Deceives.
Trump Cautilizing a Rift Between USA and Europe
Donald Trump is cautilizing a rift between the U.S. and NATO that may be irreparable when Trump is gone from office. He has cautilized European nations to launch distrusting the U.S. Europeans are astonished at this since NATO has been the greatest military alliance ever in world history, and the U.S. has bee somewhat like President Ronald Reagan described it—a shining city on a hill. But Trump is ruining whatever good reputation the U.S. has had in the world. European leaders mock him behind closed doors and are perplexed by his many crazy statements. The result may be that Europe will view for another partner to align with and thus Dump Trump, meaning disengage with the U.S. I believe in the future that would be more to loss of the U.S. than Europe.
Here’s why. As a serious student of biblical eschatology all of my adult life, I wrote a book about the conclude times and second coming of Christ entitled Warrior from Heaven. In it, I interpret various biblical prophecies, especially in the book of Daniel, to display that during the latter days before the conclude of this age and the second coming, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa will be joined toreceiveher in more than an alliance, but as a “more perfect union” that mirrors the former Roman Empire in its heyday.
The Revived Roman Empire in the Latter Days
Thus, what we are witnessing—with President Trump alienating the U.S. from Europe—may become a catalyst toward this future creation of what the Bible characterizes as the strongest empire in world history. It will be a two-part federation of five kingdoms in Europe and five kingdoms in the Middle East and North Africa that will represent sort of a revived Roman Empire. From here the final Antichrist will arise to rule the world. He will claim to be a god (Daniel 11.37; 2 Thessalonians 2.4). And he will declare war against the Christians and overcome them (Daniel 7.21). And in the very conclude of the age he will seek to annihilate Jews and the nation of Israel (Zechariah 14.1-2; Revelation 12.13-17). Then Jesus will return to deliver his people and destroy this Antichrist with “the breathe of his lips,” the prophet Isaiah predicts (Isaiah 11.4), “annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming,” declares the apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2.8).
