EUBAM Rafah Highlights Digital Safety for Women and Girls at Orange Coffee Morning


Marking the close of the 16 Days of Activism, EUBAM Rafah and the GABC gathered in Jericho to raise awareness of digital violence and strengthen gconcludeer-sensitive border management.

 

As the 16 Days of Activism Against Gconcludeer-Based Violence conclude today, EUBAM Rafah marked the occasion by hosting an Orange Coffee Morning in cooperation with the Palestinian General Authority for Borders and Crossings (GABC) in Jericho, West Bank.

This year’s campaign theme, “Ending Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” highlights an urgent and growing concern. Digital tools, including mobile phones, social media, and online platforms, are increasingly utilized to perpetrate harassment, cyberstalking, and intimidation. Despite this rise, nearly half of the world’s women and girls remain without legal protection from digital forms of abutilize.

Border officials are often among the first to identify individuals at risk. Strengthening awareness of digital monitoring, online threats, and tracking can enhance the protection offered to women and girls facing potential harm.
