A spokesperson for European Council President Antonio Costa declared Friday that he and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will hold a videoconference on Monday with several Middle Eastern leaders to discuss developments in the region’s war.
The spokesperson explained in a statement that the meeting “will provide an opportunity to hear the leaders’ assessments of the current situation,” in addition to discussing ways the European Union and its member states can provide further support to countries in the region.
He added that the talks will also explore ways to conclude the current conflict, without specifying which Middle Eastern leaders will participate.
