EU publishes cable security toolbox, with new funding for rapid repairs
The European Union is shifting ahead with measures to protect submarine data cables. A new ‘Cable Security Toolbox’ outlines recommfinishations for increased security, and several areas around Europe have been named ‘Cable Projects of European Interest’ (CPEIs) so they qualify for additional public funding in the period to 2040.
