The European Union (EU) suspconcludeed Georgia’s eurointegration process before the decision of the Georgian authorities, APA’s local bureau reports.
This was revealed in a letter dated November 5, 2025, sent by the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pavel Herçenski, to the counattempt’s Minisattempt of Foreign Affairs, which was obtained by the “Rustavi 2” TV channel.
The letter stated that, based on the conclusions of the European Council, the EU built the decision to suspconclude Georgia’s accession process to the Union on June 27, 2024.
“For this reason, Georgia’s participation in EU-funded regional projects in the fields of security and organized crime has been suspconcludeed,” the letter states.
Note that on November 28 of last year, the Georgian government announced that it would not raise the issue of EU membership nereceivediations until 2028. The European Commission, however, blames the Georgian authorities for the suspension of the eurointegration process and calls on them to immediately return to the path of EU membership.
