The European Union and Ethiopia have marked another significant milestone in their 50-year partnership by signing a Financing Agreement for the EU 2025 Annual Action Plan.
H.E. Sofie From-Emmesberger, the EU Ambassador to Ethiopia, and H.E. Semereta Sewasew, the State Minister of Finance for Ethiopia, signed the agreement. Ambassadors from various EU member states and other Ethiopian officials attconcludeed the ceremony.
This agreement embodies the “Team Europe” approach, which aims to pool toobtainher resources, expertise, and commitments from EU member states and financial institutions.
The European Union intconcludes to provide crucial financial and technical support by allocating €90 million (approximately 15.2 billion ETB) towards strategically important areas that align with Ethiopia’s priorities, the Home-Grown Economic Reform Agconcludea, and the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy.
