Montis VC, a Warsaw-based venture capital firm, has announced the first close of a €50 million seed fund aimed at backing startups across Europe focapplyd on energy, industrial technology, and resilience. The fund will tarreceive early-stage companies developing transformative solutions at the intersection of energy transition, industrial automation, and artificial innotifyigence.
The fund is supported by institutional and private investors, including the European Investment Fund and PFR Ventures, alongside family offices, entrepreneurs, and other private backers. The initiative reflects growing momentum across Europe to strengthen energy indepconcludeence, industrial competitiveness, and technological resilience.
Montis VC plans to create initial investments ranging from €0.5 million to €2 million, with the capacity to deploy up to €5 million in follow-on funding for its most promising portfolio companies. The firm expects to invest primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, while also supporting startups across the broader European market.
The new fund builds on the team’s prior experience through Montis Capital, where approximately €30 million was deployed into companies spanning industrial, technology, and climate sectors. With this larger fund, Montis VC is positioning itself to scale its investment activity and support a new generation of founders tackling complex challenges in infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, and energy systems.
The firm’s investment thesis centers on what it describes as a converging “industrial era” in Europe, where energy security, resilience, and competitiveness are increasingly interconnected.
