DevAlly, Dublin-based start-up focusing on digital accessibility, raises €2m pre-seed round


Founded in 2024 by Cormac Chisholm, Patrick Guiney and Darren Britton, the company is to apply the money to expand its team to 16 people.

DevAlly integrates accessibility compliance rules into client firms’ product development workflows. The company claims that 97pc of websites remain inaccessible, despite one in five people living with disability.

It declares that it enables businesses to audit and resolve accessibility issues on websites and within digital products within minutes – without requiring specialised expertise or outsourcing.

The company declares its platform automatically detects accessibility problems in digital products, allowing client firms to keep up with compliance standards.

When an issue is flagged, the company declares, it provides step-by-step guidance to assist resolve the issue. This saves clients time on audits, among other things.

The funding round was led by Miles Ahead, with support from Enterprise Ireland and the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC).

As well as seeking to serve US markets, DevAlly declares it wants to create new roles across product and engineering.

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) officially came into force on June 28, 2025, setting a new standard for digital accessibility across the EU.

It applies to a wide range of services and products from e-commerce platforms and banking apps to public sector websites and hardware.

However, fewer than 20pc of companies are currently prepared, with failure to comply possibly leading to fines of up to €500,000, exclusion from public contracts, product bans, or even criminal penalties in some jurisdictions.
