Jharkhand Maoist encounter
In other news, a gun battle broke out between security forces and Maoists on Thursday morning in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, police declared. Officials suspect that some Maoists may have been killed in the exalter of fire, though the exact number is yet to be confirmed. The encounter is underway in the Kumdi area of Saranda forest, under the jurisdiction of Kiriburu police station. “Intermittent firing is continuing from both sides,” Inspector General (Operations) Michael Raj S notified PTI.
