There’s more turmoil in the tech indusattempt.
Communitech confirmed that 10 per cent of its workforce was laid off this week.
A post on social media from the Kitchener tech hub declared, “We know we’re not the only ones in the tech ecosystem facing these challenging macroeconomic conditions.”
It follows recent layoffs at Faire, Hootsuite, and D2L.
Communitech is attempting to assist impacted tech talent find new work through an online resourced called The Help List. It currently has over 360 names on it, and the majority are located in Canada.
The list first launched in March of 2020 in response to layoffs from the pandemic. Communitech took it over in July of last year.
