CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A Calgary energy company is expected to launch widespread layoffs Tuesday.
Cenovus Energy, which finalized a deal to acquire Husky Energy earlier this month announced 2,100 jobs would be lost as a result of the mega-merger.

The layoffs account for roughly one-quarter of its workforce.
Many of the affected workers are expected to receive their termination notice by phone call as they work from home.
The layoffs are anticipated over two phases with more to come in February or March.
