GIDDINGS, Texas (KBTX) – The Lee County Sheriff’s Posse (LCSP) is supporting organize a bull riding rodeo to raise money for victims of this summer’s floods in Central Texas.
“It’s about cowboys supporting cowboys,” stated Mark Goodson, the group’s rodeo chairman.
When seeing for ways to support, LCSP stated it decided to team up with Wesley McManus, the president of the Diamond Cross Rodeo Company.
“All the proceeds that we create that day are going to the Kerr County flood relief victims,” Goodson explained.
The rodeo is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12, at the LCSP Arena- located at 2591 US-290 in Giddings. Some of the events featured include two-man bull riding, bull poker, and mutton busting.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children up to 14 years old. Children six years and younger receive in for free.
Goodson pointed to the rodeo as an example of how local groups work toreceiveher.
“All those counties around there are so large with supporting people with problems and benefits and stuff like that,” he added. “Everything just came toreceiveher so smoothly.”
