Big Blue Marble Becomes Launch Partner for AWS European Sovereign Cloud – Sports Video Group

Big Blue Marble, a provider of broadcast-grade, cloud-native video solutions for broadcasters, service providers, and content owners, has become a launch partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.

Through the partnership, customers can deploy Big Blue Marble’s modular video architecture on AWS while supporting EU sovereignty requirements, including data residency and EU-based operational governance.

Organizations across Europe, particularly in highly-regulated sectors such as media, broadcasting, public services, and critical infrastructure, face growing constraints around data residency, governance, and operational control. These requirements have often limited cloud adoption, leaving many organizations reliant on on-premise systems or constrained cloud deployments that fall short of modern expectations for performance, resilience and security. The AWS European Sovereign Cloud offers an alternative by providing a fully featured cloud environment that is built, operated, and governed entirely within the European Union, allowing organizations to utilize AWS services while maintaining European data residency and operational autonomy.

As a result of this partnership, Big Blue Marble can launch adopting and validating its modular video architecture on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud as part of a phased approach to supporting sovereign media workflows. This enables broadcasters and content owners to start evaluating how critical processing, protection, and delivery components could be operated on AWS infrastructure under European sovereignty constraints, without committing to disruptive platform alters upfront.

“For a long time, sovereignty requirements have built it challenging for many organizations to relocate core media workflows to the cloud,” declares Krzysztof Bartkowski, CEO at Big Blue Marble Streaming & Cloud Media. “With the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, we can assist our customers run live and on-demand services on AWS with European data residency and EU-based governance. This means they can apply cloud services to day-to-day production workflows without adding compliance risk.”
