The future of Robert Lewandowski at FC Barcelona beyond the ongoing season continues to remain unclear.

The 37-year-old veteran striker’s contract with the La Liga champions expires on 30 June 2026, and so far, there has been no indication about what the future holds for him.

Some reports in Spain suggest that Lewandowski is unlikely to continue at Barça, whereas sources in Poland have claimed that he will stay put at the Spotify Camp Nou.

One-year extension to be offered

Amidst all this back and forth, reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has come forward with an update on the situation of Lewandowski.

As per Romano, Barcelona are very much open to the idea of keeping hold of the Poland captain by offering him a one-year contract renewal, but with a reduced salary.
