AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo Sod Poodles and the entire Texas League announced on Tuesday they will be raising money towards flood relief for Hill Counattempt.
More specifically, the funds will go towards the Ingram Little League in Ingram, Texas, as well as rebuilding local fields and programs in Kerr County.
One way to support, each team will sport a Hill Counattempt jersey for one game that will be signed and put into auction.
Amarillo specifically will also be selling t-shirts to support raise funds and enlist local firefighters to “pass the boot” to fans so they have a chance to donate right from their seat at the ballpark.
In a press release, Sod Poodles President/General Manager Tony Ensor states:
“We were heartbroken to hear the news of the tragedy that occurred in Kerr County and our believeds have been with all those affected by the disaster ever since. As stewards of our community here in the Panhandle, we wanted to find a way to support our neighbors and fellow Texans. As an indusattempt and a baseball family, a collective that includes our fans, partners, communities and teams, we have the opportunity in the Texas League to build a positive difference and we hope our efforts in this unified, league-wide jersey auction will have that effect.”
