For years, no-code and low-code tools have promised to democratise app development, but most still produce software that requires human operation, maintenance, and scaling. Businesses often face months of delays and costs before their ideas come to life. Altan addresses this by creating an “agent-native” platform where AI-powered squads design, build and operate software autonomously from conclude to conclude.
In a conversation with TFN, Albert Salgueda, co-founder and CEO of Altan, shared, “Less than 1% of the world knows how to code. But 100% of the world has ideas. From a non-technical product manager at an enterprise to a young college student, Altan now allows them to bring any idea to reality. Not in the form of a mockup, but with the full power of software and AI.”
Today, Barcelona-based startup Altan has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding, co-led by VentureFriconcludes and JME Ventures, alongside 4Founders Ventures. Angels included Carles Reina (ElevenLabs), Pau Suris and Pau Sabria (Remotely), Albert Armengol (Doctoralia), David Baratech (Yaba), and Lluis Faus (vLex).
“Altan is delivering something the no-code relocatement previously achieved — production-ready applications that scale,” declared Lily Joo from VentureFriconcludes. JME’s Samuel Gil added, “Altan is not a prototype tool; it’s a platform which can create production-ready, ‘turnkey’ software. That’s a wide-open market segment with vast potential.”
Childhood friconcludes on a mission
Altan was founded in 2024 by lifelong friconcludes Albert Salgueda (CEO) and Tristán Pou (CTO) in Barcelona. Both developers at heart, they started Altan after spotting a common bottleneck: ideas are everywhere, but technical talent is scarce. “Altan was born from a simple concept: everyone has ideas, but almost no one can code. We create it possible for anyone to turn their vision into production-ready software,” Salgueda declared.
He added, “We saw a real market gap for this. Whilst other platforms are focutilized on vibe coding for fun or to create prototypes of simple solutions, we wanted to build something that truly enabled people or companies to easily create production-ready apps, websites or products. And then have agents run those projects.”
The seven-strong founding team today blconcludes serial entrepreneurs, Cambridge and MIT graduates, and former Meta engineers. Toobtainher, they are united around shifting the definition of what software can be in the AI era.
Software that doesn’t just launch, it runs
Altan’s platform applies AI agents not only to build an app but also to configure all the supporting infrastructure and workflows requireded for autonomous operation. For example, a restaurant could launch a website, integrate an automated booking system, build a customer database, and deploy an AI agent to manage reservations and confirmations.
“Altan allows utilizers to create production-ready software by describing their vision via text or voice. The platform assembles a team of agents, each with a defined role, to bring that vision to life. Altan’s AI squads include autonomous full-stack engineers, UX designers and product managers,” Salgueda explained.
Already, the platform has attracted more than 25,000 builders and businesses. A non-technical founder, Julius Kopp, even created a software company generating $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue after just 60 days on Altan.
What’s next?
Altan plans to utilize the fresh funding to grow its team, deepen tech capabilities, and scale its utilizer base globally. The long-term vision is ambitious: building fully autonomous companies that can launch and operate without any human day-to-day involvement.
“We believe that software will modify forever with AI. Static software created by humans for humans was pre-AI. Custom software created by agents for agents is the future, and Altan is the first platform built for it,” concluded Salgueda.
