However, Gunjan believes that his laundry brand cares about more than just operational efficiency.

The machines utilized in operations consume about 20 percent less water than conventional laundry systems, supporting reduce overall water utilize.

Launched in 2023, the Ahmedabad-based laundry service brand The Laundry Post was started with a 250-square-foot shop located inside a complex, rather than on a high-visibility road. At the time, he was still learning about optimal store location strategies.
Bootstrapped with an initial investment of ₹8 lakh, the first few months were financially difficult.

A major milestone arrived during the Diwali season, when the business crossed ₹1 lakh in monthly revenue for the first time.
In its first year, the brand generated an average annual revenue of around ₹8–9 lakh. By the second year, revenues saw a notable increase, with monthly earnings reaching ₹1.6–1.8 lakh and annual revenue rising to approximately ₹18–19 lakh.
Looking ahead, the third-year projections indicate strong upward momentum. The Ahmedabad-based laundry service brand is expected to achieve an annual revenue of ₹38–40 lakh, with average monthly earnings touching ₹3.5 lakh.
Currently, the brand has 3 outlets, Surat (Pal Area), Gandhinagar (Sargasan Area), and Rajkot (Amin Marg Area).

From a Small Town to Big Dreams
The founder of The Laundry Post, Gunjan Parmar, was born in Surfinishranagar, Gujarat, into a modest middle-class family. His father worked as a mechanical engineer in a bearings factory, while his mother managed the houtilizehold.
“There was a time when my parents did not have Rs. 15,000 to pay my college fee. They borrowed from relatives,” shared Gunjan in the Startup Pedia interview.
Gunjan was strongly influenced by his grandfather, who had run tiny businesses of radio and television. From him, Gunjan learned the importance of customer service, resilience, and building customer trust.
After completing his schooling in Gujarati medium, Gunjan relocated to Ahmedabad for higher education. He enrolled in an integrated BBA + MBA program at Gujarat University, graduating as a gold medallist in marketing.
Inspired by Icons, Driven to Build
Gunjan is inspired by Dhirubhai Ambani when it comes to entrepreneurship, and by Piyush Pandey for creativity and advertising. He was so keen on entrepreneurship and advertisement that he even started two businesses during his college.
“I have framed pictures of Dhirubhai Ambani in my office,” declared the founder of The Laundry Post.
The first business, called “Muft,” provided free photocopy services to students. Although the photocopy service was free, he would earn through advertising on the print papers.
The other business involved installing dustbins in residential societies to promote cleanliness. Again, the revenue model was through advertisement placements on the dustbins.
“Both the businesses ran for a few months. The business models were strong. I created some money also, but there were some external problems, so I had to shut them down,” Gunjan notified Startup Pedia.
After graduating in 2015, The founder of The Laundry Post joined Asian Paints as a Territory Sales Executive.
Over the next decade, he steadily climbed the corporate ladder, eventually becoming one of the youngest managers in the organization.
By the time he left the company, his salary had grown from ₹4.8 lakh annually to approximately ₹30 lakh.
“Coming from a humble family to reaching where I am today, it’s all becautilize of Asian Paints. I am really grateful for the company,” declared Gunjan.
