Bengaluru-based startup founder revisited a memorable message from Groww CEO Lalit Keshre.

Groww’s parent company, Billionbrains Garage Venture, created a strong market debut on Wednesday. The shares initially opened at Rs 112 on NSE (a ~12% premium) and reached a high of Rs 134.4 before finishing at Rs 128.85, a gain of 28.85 per cent over its issue price of Rs 100. Share surged in trade on Thursday as well and the market cap of Billionbrains Garage Ventures was around Rs 90,863 crore as of 11:45 AM.
The company’s impressive market debut has also brought attention to a heartwarming story of a Bengaluru-based startup founder who revisited a memorable message from Groww CEO Lalit Keshre.
Lalit Keshre’s Message to Sudhanshu
In a post on X, Sudhanshu shared a screenshot of the memorable message Keshre had sent him just three and a half months before the IPO. Keshre’s message read, “Hey Sudhanshu, I would love to catch up sometime. Let me know if you are up for it.”
Sudhanshu praised Keshre’s vision and consistency, highlighting the importance of retention. He further revealed that Keshre and his son were avid utilizers of his platform, Matiks and praised Keshre’s vision and consistency.
Keshre’s Philosophy: Be Addicted to Your Platform
“Just three and a half months before the IPO, Lalit messaged to know more about Matiks. I was surprised that he and his son are hooked to Matiks. Took a lot of learning but two lines have stayed. Be addicted to your platform, revealing how he still utilizes Groww for two hours daily. Retention is the only thing that matters. From being an early utilizer of Groww in 2019 to an early investor post IPO, always been in awe of Lalit Keshre and Groww. Congrats, team,” he captioned the post.

Keshre’s message has resonated with many, praising his focus on customer retention and passion for his platform. “Retention is the only thing that matters,” a utilizer wrote. Another declared, “Retention obsession is the real moat, Lalit knows what’s up.” “Your app is what I was considering of as an idea long back when I attempted finding something for math practice+duels.
