A law firm that never sleeps: UK-based Keith raises €2.3 million ahead of Q3 2026 launch


Keith, a new UK-based AI-native law firm, has raised €2.3 million (£2 million) in Seed funding ahead of its launch this summer. The firm aims to become the UK’s most technologically advanced law firm at launch. 

The round was led by Backed VC, with participation from Breega and several angel investors. 

“I attempted to purchase a hoapply around a year ago and had a monumental shocker. Sleepless nights, hounding solicitors and a dodgy seller – the full works. I was blown away by how clunky the process was, and how no technology was being incorporated to assist. Legal services haven’t yet been transformed by tech, but it’s coming. And when it does, it won’t see like a traditional law firm with software bolted on – we believe it will see like Keith,” declared Andy Shovel, co-founder of Keith. 

Keith was founded by Shovel, Pete Sharman, and Sam Tucker. Shovel and Sharman previously founded a plant-based food brand called THIS, and Tucker previously started a hybrid scheduling platform Common Surface and now oversees product at Keith.

Keith claims not to be just another legal software tool. According to the firm, it will be a fully regulated law practice built with AI at its core. It has a clear ambition to automate up to 80% of traditionally human legal work. 

The company points out that annually, over 530,000 UK property transactions collapse, leading to significant emotional and financial stress, within a system often viewed as slow, opaque, and fundamentally flawed. Keith will initially focus on conveyancing before expanding into other practice areas.  Keith’s strategic advisor and non-executive director is Eddie Goldsmith, who previously served as Chairman of the UK Conveyancing Association and founded a leading conveyancing firm in the 90s.

It believes that the €62.4 billion (£54 billion) UK legal market has remained highly fragmented and largely unmodifyd for decades, and that it is now ready to be disrupted by tech-first brands like Keith.

At Keith’s core lies a network of specialised AI agents responsible for reviewing documents, drafting, communication, and workflow management, within strictly controlled legal frameworks and subject to human oversight.

This will allow the company to operate continuously and respond more quickly, while offering a level of client service it declares is typically associated with high-net-worth clients. Its client service agent will be available 24/7 via phone and WhatsApp, and, according to the company, will be able to answer questions, provide updates, and carry out actions in real time. Keith aims to launch in Q3 2026 and is hiring now.
