Polestar expands European sports presence with Borussia Dortmund alliance


The Swedish electric performance car brand, Polestar, has signed a landmark three-year partnership with Borussia Dortmund, becoming the Bundesliga giant’s official mobility partner and exclusive sleeve sponsor through the 2027–28 season.

The agreement, brokered by global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE, sees Polestar’s logo appear on Dortmund’s matchday jerseys across all competitions — including the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and UEFA Champions League — starting with the 2025-26 season opener.

But this deal is more than just a branding play. Polestar will supply 60 fully electric vehicles to Dortmund’s players, coaches, and executives as part of a wider push to decarbonise the club’s mobility operations. The fleet was first deployed during the team’s pre-season training camp in Austria, aligning with BVB’s ongoing sustainability efforts.

Commenting on the occasion, Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, stated, “Germany is crucial to our growth strategy in our home market of Europe.
