A Swedish startup just landed $17 million in seed funding to fix one of online retail’s most persistent headaches: returns driven by poor fit.
Personalization technology developer eComID, headquartered in Stockholm, closed the round during Q3 2026. The capital infusion positions the company to push beyond its home market and scale its core product.
The company’s flagship offering, Shopping Passport, lets consumers carry their sizing, fit preferences, and style tastes across multiple connected retailers. Shoppers no longer start from scratch at every new storefront. Meanwhile, eComID’s artificial intelligence layer leverages that profile data to power size recommendations, conversational search tools, and tailored product discovery feeds.
The $17 million seed round ranks among Europe’s largest for the quarter.
eComID plans to channel the funds into several fronts: entering fresh geographic markets, accelerating Shopping Passport adoption, sharpening its sizing and discovery algorithms, and growing both headcount and technical infrastructure.
The bet hinges on a straightforward premise. When retailers understand a customer’s measurements and aesthetic leanings before checkout, conversion climbs and return rates sink. That dual benefit has drawn increasing investor attention as e-commerce margins stay under pressure across the continent.
As a result, expect eComID to move quickly on merchant partnerships throughout Europe. The next test involves whether enough brands adopt the passport to make it a genuine standard rather than a niche convenience.
