Flipkart has acquired a minority position in TravClan, a global B2B travel technology startup, signaling a major push into international holiday offerings. The investment aims to transform how Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel serve Indian tourists seeking curated overseas experiences.
The ecommerce giant gains access to TravClan’s extensive network of direct suppliers and destination-based teams across the globe. TravClan currently serves more than 15,000 travel agents, equipping them with tools for custom itinerary building, hotel reservations, and activity bookings backed by round-the-clock destination support.
As a result, Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel can now deliver more personalized international packages with dependable on-ground assistance throughout each trip.
TravClan plans to channel the fresh capital into platform expansion, stronger supplier relationships worldwide, and growth across engineering, business development, and operations teams.
Nishant Verman, SVP of Corporate Development and Partnerships at Flipkart, described the investment as a move to deepen travel capabilities. He noted that modern travelers expect more than basic flight or hotel transactions. They seek holidays shaped around personal interests with continuous support. TravClan’s supplier infrastructure and destination expertise will help build that experience across both travel platforms.
Meanwhile, Arun Bagaria, Co-founder and CEO of TravClan, pointed to India’s rapid emergence as a leading outbound travel market. First-time international travelers account for a substantial portion of this growth. He emphasized that keeping these trips affordable while maintaining consistent service quality remains the key challenge.
Bagaria explained that direct supplier contracts and company-operated ground teams enable competitive pricing alongside reliable customer experiences. The Flipkart partnership, he added, positions TravClan to bring affordable travel products to millions of Indians beginning their international journeys.
