$1,500 Panda Robot Brings Tactile Companionship to European Elderly Care

Mind With Heart Robotics Launches AnAn Panda Robot in Europe

A panda-shaped robot designed for companionship and elder support has arrived in Europe, with retail sales kicking off this month at prices ranging from $1,000 to $1,500.

Mind With Heart Robotics, based in China, made the announcement ahead of IFA Berlin, where the AnAn robot will make its first European public appearance on Sept. 5. The device previously earned recognition as a CES 2026 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Artificial Intelligence category.

AnAn responds to human touch through full-body tactile sensors, producing movement and emotional reactions. The system also initiates conversations, delivers reminders, and builds long-term memory of user habits over time.

The rollout includes distribution agreements already secured in Germany and Belgium. An initial production batch of 100 units has been completed, with samples ready to ship to channel partners. A repair and after-sales facility in Belgium will serve European customers.

A business-oriented version of AnAn offers secure dashboards for care providers to monitor behavioral trends and engagement patterns. Founder and CEO Jiaming Zhang described the European expansion as an essential milestone, noting the company actively seeks additional channel partners across the region.

Meanwhile, Mind With Heart Robotics plans to introduce its Duncan Series companion robots to Europe as well. Those models target neurodivergent children and typically developing children in early education settings.

The AnAn launch reflects growing momentum for socially assistive robotics in eldercare markets worldwide. As Europe faces aging demographics and caregiver shortages, manufacturers increasingly position interactive robots as supplementary support tools rather than replacements for human care. Whether European consumers embrace the panda robot at this price point remains an open question, but early distribution partnerships suggest retailer confidence in the category.
