Morocco’s Reglo Pursues €1M+ Seed Round to End B2B Payment Chaos

Moroccan Business Finance

Morocco’s Reglo has entered active talks with European and MENA venture capital funds to secure a seed round exceeding €1 million, as the B2B fintech platform races to modernize how small businesses across the country handle invoicing and tax compliance.

The fundraising push arrives amid accelerating momentum across Africa’s digital economy. Reglo positions itself as a financial operating system built specifically for Morocco’s regulatory environment, where SMBs and independent contractors face fragmented tools, chronic payment delays stretching past 90 days, and a dense fiscal calendar spanning VAT, corporate tax, CNSS, and mandatory ICE verifications.

CEO Amr Zine Abidine Ouazzani attributes investor interest to execution capacity rather than market size alone. He frames the company’s architectural approach as foundational: building fiscal rails for thousands of companies, not merely another invoicing tool. The leadership team includes COO Mehdi Benyaich, CFO Amine Mahassini, and CTO Adam Belhous.

Benyaich highlights operational complexity as the core barrier for Moroccan business owners. Reglo consolidates DGI-compliant electronic invoicing, OCR receipt scanning, automated tax calendars with alerts, WhatsApp payment reminders, and pre-invoicing solvency checks into a unified command center. The platform automates administrative work while leaving entrepreneur judgment intact.

Mahassini stresses cash-flow visibility as a solvency lifeline. Executives receive real-time dashboards tracking receivables, expenses, overdue invoices, and tax forecasts. Accountants gain structured, reconciled data weeks ahead of conventional reporting cycles.

Belhous describes a dual-layer architecture where AI handles contextual extraction and anomaly detection, while a deterministic rules engine executes all fiscal calculations. An immutable append-only event ledger versions tax rates like code. Morocco’s clearance model, which makes the tax authority a synchronous dependency, required engineering for latency using asynchronous queues and idempotency safeguards.

Reglo’s customer acquisition has begun, and the company now positions itself as core infrastructure for North African commerce shifting toward mandatory digital compliance.
