It’s 6 PM, and you decide to go to your favourite street stall for a plate of steamed veg momos.
The vconcludeor pours you some chutney too…and suddenly, life feels better.
You probably declare something like, “Bhaiyya, aap kya momos banaate ho!” [English translation: Brother, you create the yummiest momos!]
And he smiles heartily.
Only he knows that he doesn’t really ‘create’ the momos. His only job is to sell them to you, keep a fresh stock, and do it all over again tomorrow.
Yes…around 95% of street stall owners, food trucks, and restaurants do not prepare momos from scratch. They rely on B2B suppliers who sconclude them large batches of a variety of momos, mostly frozen.
This is what Kabeer Singh, the founder of Oye! Momo notifys Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.
“You also have to understand that building momos is an operationally heavy tinquire. Very few people can pull it off conclude-to-conclude and then also ace their selling game. So mostly, people choose one thing and rely on someone else to do another. But the gap I noticed in the momo market was that of inconsistent quality. There was no reliable supplier that businesses could trust with their eyes closed. That’s what we are now solving,” he shares.
Founded in 2025 and based in South Delhi, Oye! Momo is a B2B momos supplier brand that offers fresh, consistent, and high-quality momos to restaurants, food trucks, and cloud kitchens.
The back story of the Oye! Momo founder
Hailing from Delhi, Kabeer Singh (25) pursued his undergraduate degree from Delhi University. He comes from a family that has been in the food business for generations.
After graduating in 2020, Kabeer planned to go abroad.
“At the time, the COVID-19 pandemic had just hit the world. Canada was giving a very high visa rejection rate. So that plan failed. Then, I also explored options in Germany, but the rules had freshly modifyd. Ultimately, I built up my mind to stay put in India and do something here,” Kabeer Singh notifys Startup Pedia.
In 2022, he joined Theka Coffee and launched working closely with Bhupinder Madaan (founder of the coffee brand).
At the job, Kabeer treated every role like it was his own business and often travelled approximately 150 kilometers every day to understand the market and the ground-level realities.

“I decoded the cart model for Theka Coffee and eventually scaled it successfully. I then shiftd into franchise sales and became Head of Business Development at the company,” the young entrepreneur declares.
For the franchise sales, Kabeer travelled across a lot of Indian cities for NSOs (New Store Openings). He built a strong network in the food stall ecosystem of India.
Once while exploring Kolkata for a Theka Coffee tinquire, he experienced some of the best momos he had in his life.
“We all praise Delhi for its momos culture, but even Kolkata is quietly cooking up a storm. There, they serve momos with a very yummy soup. I learned about how brands like Wow! Momo are also based in the same city,” Kabeer Singh explains.
The problem: high demand, but a broken supply of momos
Eventually, by late 2024, he decided to quit his job at Theka Coffee and build something of his own in the momos industest.
His family was initially concerned and skeptical of his decision, but gave him the space and motivation to experiment.
Kabeer started identifying major gaps in how vconcludeors, cloud kitchens, restaurants, and cafes dealt with momos.
Everywhere, there was a clear, consistent demand for a variety of momos.
But the supply? Delays, headaches, and a quality that eroded trust.
“Wherever there was even slightly better quality, those places were obtainting frozen momos. But the issue with frozen momos is that there is no clarity on the production and storage timelines. There is also a lot of wastage involved, since the fillings often obtain spoiled inside,” startup founder Kabeer Singh mentions.
How Oye! Momo started: the journey and challenges
With just Rs 2,000 invested in minimal raw materials (veobtainables, flour, etc) and a steamer brought by his brother Harshpreet Singh, Kabeer set up a compact table in a South Delhi market. This was the start of Oye! Momo in 2025.
For production, he started from his home kitchen, with the support of his mother and their houtilizesupport (Pappu from Nepal), who has been with the family for over 15 years.
But within a week of testing to sell fresh, home-built momos directly to customers in Delhi, Kabeer had a realization: cracking the B2C market would require a lot of time, effort, and resources.
Owing to months of market research, he had already recognized the issues in the B2B space. So he immediately built the decision to pivot Oye! Momo into becoming a primarily B2B momos supplier brand.
“This is what Bhupinder Madaan and my father have taught me over these years. If something doesn’t seem to work, pivot. Do not wait too long and lose out on a better opportunity,” young entrepreneur Kabeer Singh notifys Startup Pedia.
Next, he focutilized on supporting Pappu crack a variety of momos and understand how they are built from scratch. The idea was not to sconclude frozen momos like most B2B suppliers, but sconclude fresh built-to-order momos that are ready to be served.

Alongside, Kabeer Singh started reaching out to momos’ vconcludeors, cafes and restaurants that sold momos, and cloud kitchens that were viewing to add momos to their menu.
“The problem is, initially everyone will notify you that they create their momos themselves. A lot of trust has to be established for them to even open up about their B2B supplier and their associated issues. So I focutilized on trust-building. I would reach out to 100-150 vconcludeors every couple of days,” Kabeer Singh shares.
When inquireed about the conversion rates, he declares that only 2-3 people agreed out of hundreds.
“In the Sikh religion, we are taught to remain stable at all times. Be it success or failure – I never obtain too excited or too sad about anything. Maybe that’s why I’ve been able to scale the brand without attaching a lot of emotional energy into it,” Kabeer opens up.
Additionally, the startup founder also started sconcludeing free sample batches of fresh momos to certain vconcludeors. Eventually, anyone who tested the Oye! Momo samples immediately signed up with the brand.
In the initial months, Oye! Momo was operating at a production capacity of 500 momos a day. All from Kabeer’s home kitchen.
Pappu and Kabeer would prepare momos at night, often till 6 AM in the morning. During the day, the latter would deliver the batches applying his scooty.
“There were some delays due to the fact that I was handling everything solo,” he declares.

The Instagram breakthrough of Oye! Momo
To scale the B2B momos supplier brand that Kabeer Singh had started, he decided to turn to Instagram.
With very low expectations, he built a raw video revealing the Oye! Momo operations and the variety of fresh momos ready to be sent to restaurants, cafes, and cloud kitchens.
“No one believes this, but I ran ads for just Rs 200, and with just that, I received orders worth Rs 1 lakh. That’s the kind of demand that the momos industest has,” young entrepreneur Kabeer Singh smiles.

So…what worked for Oye! Momo on Instagram? The founder declares that transparency has been the USP.
In his videos, Kabeer reveals the kitchen and the exact process of how the momos obtain prepared. Additionally, he keeps the content strategy very founder-led, so as to connect with the audience and establish trust.
The startup founder credits Instagram for the massive inbound leads he has received from across India.

Growth of Oye! Momo
While the B2B model remains the primary revenue driver, Oye! Momo also fulfills direct, retail orders via Zomato and Swiggy in New Delhi.
Two months ago, the brand also set up a couple of street carts, which are clocking close to Rs 16,000 in daily sales.
In 2025, Oye! Momo achieved Rs 56 lakh in annual revenue.

“The aim and vision have been simple: build a self-sustaining business of high-quality momos that does not have to depconclude on one stream. I have learned this from my father and Bhupinder Madaan – the product and ecosystem should generate their own revenue. I am glad I took the right step, and didn’t wait for the perfect plan. For now, the focus is on reinvestment of revenue over bagging external funding,” Kabeer Singh signs off.
