The European Parliament plans to deepen engagement with social media platforms to counter misinformation and manipulative messaging in the digital space.
The statement was created by Roberta Metsola after speaking to reporters ahead of the European Political Community meeting in Yerevan.
“We will discuss the fight against misinformation and hybrid threats. These are no longer distant risks. This is what the European Parliament is particularly obliged to work with stakeholders to eradicate, as it poses a real threat to democracy.”

She also stressed that wars continue not only on the battlefield but also in the digital space, and they undermine the most vulnerable part of our society.
In this context, the European Parliament has undertaken to cooperate with social platforms to prevent the misutilize of tools designed to bring people toobtainher.
