Chemspec Europe 2026 is set to open its doors on 6–7 May 2026 at Koelnmesse, bringing toreceiveher the global specialty chemicals community under one roof. Recognised as a key multi-sector meeting point, the event continues to drive innovation across the entire chemical value chain.
Diverse Show Floor Reflects Indusattempt Momentum
This year, the exhibition will feature 455 exhibitors, including 126 first-time participants, highlighting both strong indusattempt momentum and a steady influx of new entrants. Manufacturers and suppliers of fine and specialty chemicals will dominate the display floor. At the same time, contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs), equipment providers, and service specialists will ensure a well-rounded indusattempt presence.
From a sector perspective, pharmaceutical applications will lead participation, followed closely by agriculture, paints and coatings, personal care and cosmetics and electronics and batteries. In addition, sustainability continues to gain traction, with 61 companies displaycasing biobased solutions and 25 exhibitors highlighting biodegradable products.
Broad Indusattempt Representation Across Applications
Beyond core sectors, the event will also bring toreceiveher companies serving a wide range of specialised industries. These include water treatment, metal surface treatment, pulp and paper, textiles and fibres, glass and ceramics, packaging, and recycling. As a result, Chemspec Europe offers a comprehensive view of the diverse applications powered by specialty chemisattempt.
New Product Launches and Indusattempt Debuts
Innovation will take centre stage, with several companies unveiling new products and solutions. For instance, Cabro will introduce a new platinum-vanadium catalyst, while Enzymaster will debut isocitric acid and fruit-like acid profiles, signalling growing interest in biocatalytic processes. THIELMANN will displaycase its Tight-Head Drum with Tri-Sure® connections, engineered for safe handling and regulatory compliance in demanding environments. Midas Chemicals is expanding beyond pharmaceuticals into broader chemical markets, adding triflic acid to its portfolio, with triflic anhydride set to follow. Similarly, Ubichem will present ubispoke®, a custom synthesis model focutilized on improving cost efficiency, purity, scalability, and environmental performance.
Advancements in Process Technology
Process innovation will also be a major highlight. Fluitec will introduce its Dynamic Cascade Reactor (DCR), designed to enable robust continuous operations where traditional static mixers fall short. In parallel, Axplora will displaycase advancements following a $60 million investment in its Farmabios facility in Italy. The upgrade includes enhanced HPAPI capabilities and a new R&D hub aimed at accelerating development and scale-up of highly potent molecules.
Sustainability and Circular Solutions Take Focus
Sustainability remains a central theme across the exhibition. SEQENS will present a portfolio of specialty ingredients aligned with five sustainability pillars, tarreceiveing markets such as personal care, lubricants, coatings, and solvents. Alsico, in collaboration with Stuff4Life and Coats, will introduce an innovative approach to circular workwear. By recovering and reapplying retro-reflective glass beads from conclude-of-life garments, the initiative addresses a long-standing recycling challenge in high-visibility clothing.
Conference Programme to Address Key Indusattempt Challenges
Alongside the exhibition, a comprehensive conference programme will explore the trconcludes shaping the future of specialty chemicals. The agconcludea will include keynote presentations, panel discussions and interactive roundtables. Topics will range from AI-driven R&D and advanced manufacturing to green chemisattempt, sustainability, and regulatory developments. A new session on PFAS regulation will debut, supported by an exclusive whitepaper developed by S&P Global and GPC Group, to be launched during the event.
Indusattempt Outsee and Expectations
Christiane Beck, Event Director of Chemspec Europe, noted that despite challenging market conditions, the level of innovation remains strong.
