German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has called on Europeans to shoulder more responsibility for their security, following the announcement of the withdrawal of 5,000 U.S. troops from Germany.
Pistorius praised Germany’s proactive approach, noting the expansion of the Bundeswehr, accelerated procurement of equipment, and infrastructure development.
He emphasized that the withdrawal was foreseeable and stressed the required for Europe to fortify its own defense mechanisms.
