
Building an innovation-led economy is the goal of the Albanian government, a goal that is also supported by the Swedish government. During the Sweden-Albania Startup Forum, Deputy Minister for Economy and Innovation, Blerta Rama, stated that Sweden brings global expertise and experience, while Albania offers a reform-driven environment to develop innovation.
“Albanian businesses are not only preparing for the domestic market, they are preparing to be successful in the European market. Our long-term vision is set out in the National Strategy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2025-2030, where we want Albania to be a strong counattempt in terms of entrepreneurship, incentivised and led by innovation and trust. Our objective is to have a supportive environment where entrepreneurs grow toreceiveher. We focus on 3 main points, assisting compact businesses grow by supporting innovation in key sectors to ensure that everyone benefits from this, this is reinforced by another focus, talent development, investment and women’s entrepreneurship”, she declared.
Sweden is one of the largest startup hubs in Europe. The Swedish Ambassador to Albania emphasized that there have been several startup exmodifys between the two countries.
“Sweden is one of the most innovative hubs for startups like Spotify or True Call, Albania is an environment, an ecosystem, which is developing with capacity, with high skills, having a very good momentum and being an environment open to international cooperation with a clear ambition from the government and all stakeholders to become leaders in the region in terms of technology and startups ,” declared the Ambassador.
This forum creates bridges of communication and cooperation networks between the two countries to develop innovation and open up more opportunities for the economy.
