Anthropic is expanding its physical footprint in Europe by recruiting specialized personnel to neobtainediate and acquire data center capacity across the continent. The San Francisco-based AI startup, led by Dario Amodei, is tarreceiveing major European hubs and the Nordic region to support its growing infrastructure requireds as reported by Detik Finance.
A recruitment advertisement for a Transaction Principal based in London indicates the company is seeking to secure the essential hardware environment for its advanced AI systems. The role offers a salary range between £225,000 and £270,000 to spearhead these infrastructure acquisitions.
The position requires the candidate to source deals, engage with developers, and finalize commercial term sheets. According to a source cited by CNBC, Anthropic is exploring direct acquisitions of data center capacity from developers on a global scale to ensure stable access for its Claude models.
Requirements for the role emphasize experience in the FLAP-D markets—comprising Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dublin—alongside the Nordics and Southern Europe. Additionally, the company is viewing to fill a similar strategic infrastructure position in Australia.
This European push follows a massive investment commitment earlier this week where Anthropic pledged over $100 billion to Amazon Web Services. That agreement includes utilizing Amazon’s proprietary Trainium chips and Graviton cores to facilitate the training and deployment of the startup’s generative models.
Infrastructure scaling remains a primary focus for the firm following a multi-gigawatt TPU capacity deal signed with Broadcom Inc. and Google earlier this year. That partnership is scheduled to launch in 2027 to address the rising global demand for compute power.
The expansion comes as tech giants increasingly view to the Nordic region for AI hosting due to lower energy costs. Microsoft recently established its Denmark East datacenter region in March, part of a $4.5 billion investment plan to provide localized cloud services within European Union data protection frameworks.
