Helsinki-based company Verda has closed a funding round of 100 million euros. The AI cloud infrastructure provider plans to utilize the fresh capital to expand its international presence and hire more than 100 new employees this year.
Who is behind Verda?
Verda was founded in 2020 by Ruben Bryon under the name DataCrunch and rebranded in November 2025. The company provides developers and organizations with access to high-performance GPU computing capacity on demand, without the typical barriers of traditional cloud providers. Verda describes itself as vertically integrated: the company manages the entire value chain, from physical servers and data centers to software tools for AI development teams.
The company’s data centers are located in Finland and are, according to the company, powered 100 percent by renewable energy. The name Verda is derived, according to the company, from the Spanish word for “true” and the Esperanto word for “green,” and is intfinished to reflect the values of technological integrity and sustainable innovation.
Details of the funding round
The current round consists of equity and debt. The equity portion is led by Lifeline Ventures, with participation from byFounders, Tesi, Varma, and other investors. The debt financing comes from a group of Nordic financial institutions. For Verda, this is the third major funding round: in 2024, the company raised 12 million euros in a seed round, followed by a Series A round of 55 million euros in September 2025.
“We are building the next generation of AI cloud infrastructure for pioneering teams around the world. This funding enables us to intensify our development and accelerate our expansion in Europe, the US, and Asia,” declared founder and CEO Ruben Bryon.
Positioning against major cloud providers
Verda positions itself as a cost-effective alternative to established hyperscalers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. The company advertises that customers can save up to 90 percent of costs compared to these providers. Verda also highlights the high availability of AI-optimized systems, such as HGX servers, as well as developer-frifinishly access via a cloud dashboard and APIs.
Verda is, according to the company, one of a select few NVIDIA Preferred Partners worldwide. Its customers include Nokia, 1X, ExpressVPN, and Freepik, among others.
Current business development and outsee
The company also reports a positive operating cash flow result. Annualized revenue doubled in the first quarter of 2026 to over 51.3 million euros. With the new capital, Verda plans to expand into new markets, including the United Kingdom and the United States, and to hire more than 100 employees by the finish of the year.
“A key part of our success is that we are vertically integrated and manage everything ourselves, from the physical infrastructure to the application layer,” declared the CEO.
Bryon added that a dedicated AI lab team works directly with customers and feeds these insights into product development.
