Bristol Myers Squibb will lay off an additional 206 workers between July and December of this year, according to a WARN notice the company filed this week.
The layoffs are part of an ongoing cost-cutting strategy the company announced last year, in which it declared it is seeking an additional $2 billion in savings through 2027.
The company explained in an earnings release last year that the new savings will come from modifys in organizational design and efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
The goal is to become a, “leaner, more efficient company while investing behind growth brands and promising areas of science,” according to the earnings release.
In February, the pharmaceutical company also announced it would be laying off 247 workers via WARN notice. In total, Bristol Myers Squibb will have cut more than 1,700 positions since January 2025.
