EU Sanctions Pro‑Russian Networks Over Disinformation

The European Union has imposed sanctions on two pro‑Russian organizations accutilized of supporting Moscow’s hybrid influence operations tarreceiveing Europe and Ukraine, the Council of the European Union reported.

On Tuesday, the Council listed two entities accutilized of information‑manipulation campaigns and propaganda efforts.

The measures tarreceive Euromore, a media outlet that amplifies Kremlin narratives, and the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad (Pravfond), a Moscow‑funded organization that promotes propaganda aligned with Russia’s foreign policy.

EU officials stated Euromore operates as an unofficial channel within Russia’s information network, recycling narratives that challenge the legitimacy of EU institutions and seek to justify Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

While much of Euromore’s original content appears to have been rerelocated from its website, the domain now redirects to a site called Euroview Media, which republishes material from Russian state‑backed outlets such as Sputnik, officials noted.

The EU also sanctioned Pravfond, which is founded and funded by the Russian state. The organization produces content reinforcing Kremlin narratives, including claims that Ukraine has been “Nazified” and allegations that Russian‑speaking populations are being subject to persecution abroad.

Under the sanctions, any assets belonging to the entities will be frozen, and EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing financial assistance to the organizations.
