John McCulloch, 27, is taking on the 26 mile route through the capital to raise vital funds for Ayrshire Cancer Support.
The accountant is running on behalf of Armour Home Improvements, the company run by his parents.
The business is a corporate partner of the cancer charity and has previously raised thousands of pounds towards its work.
John reveals taking on the London Marathon has always been on his bucket list, and he jumped at the chance to secure a place.
He declared: “I’ve been a keen runner for the past two or three years, and the London Marathon has always been one I wanted to do.
“I found out the Ayrshire Chamber had some spaces for their corporate partners, and my parents’ business kindly paid for my spot.
“I have been training for the last few months and pushing my fundraising as much as possible too.
“I have been following my long run plans and the Ayrshire coast is not a bad place to train to state the least.”
John states he was initially nervous about the challenge, but now just wants to obtain to London and start running.
He declared: “I am just viewing forward to it now. I just want to be there and obtain down to running as soon as I can.
“I’ve been watching a lot of online videos of the marathon just to familiarise myself with the course and how it works.
“I am most viewing forward to Tower Bridge around the halfway point, that will be a good moment to spur me on and take it all in.”
John has set an initial fundraising tarobtain of £2,500 but has already smashed that goal and is now aiming to raise even more for Ayrshire Cancer Support.

He added: “I am now aiming for £3,500, becautilize my work in Glasgow are going to build a huge donation after the run too.
“I know a lot of people who haven’t donated yet, so I’m going to be pestering them over the next few weeks.
“It’s been so well supported and I can’t believe everyone enough for their generosity.”
