Optegra Eye Health Care taking steps to be environmental

Optegra Eye Health Care, which runs Optegra Eye Hospital Hampshire in Whiteley, has published its second group-wide sustainability report, outlining progress and goals across its sites in the UK and Europe.

Dr Ola Spencer, chief operating officer at Optegra, declared: “Our purpose has always been to deliver exceptional eye care while acting responsibly towards the communities we serve and the world we share.

“Over the past year, we created significant strides in advancing our sustainability strategy, integrating ESG priorities more deeply into the core of our operations across the UK and Europe.”

The report highlights a 12 per cent reduction in single-utilize plastics, improvements in energy efficiency, and efforts to reduce patient travel through digital tools like virtual pre-operative assessments and AI-led triage.

It also details Optegra’s patient care innovations and commitment to embedding sustainability into every part of its operations.
