Beyond Aero is building the first electric business aircraft powered by hydrogen propulsion, which will enable six passengers to fly up to 800NM (1,500km) – five times farther than a battery-powered aircraft. The startup was founded with a mission to decarbonise one of the most emissions-intensive sectors of aviation, private jet travel. It plans to do this by redesigning the architecture of a CS23 aircraft around hydrogen-electric propulsion, focutilizing on fuel cell technology, gaseous hydrogen tank integration, and advanced cooling systems. 

The startup was founded in 2020 in Touloapply, France by a three-person strong team: Eloa Guillotin, Co-Founder and CEO, Valentin Chomel, Co-Founder and CSO, and Hugo Tarlé, Co-Founder and COO.  

In early 2024, Beyond Aero successfully completed the first fully hydrogenelectric manned flight in France with its prototype aircraft, Blériot. The aircraft was powered by an 85kW hydrogenelectric system, marking a milestone in the pursuit of zeroemission aviation. While the prototype served as a proof of concept, the startup’s BYA1 aims to be the first certified hydrogenelectric business jet by 2030. The aircraft, in the CS23 class, features two electric ductedfan engines driven by a 2.4MW fuelcell stack and hoapplys 700bar gaseous hydrogen tanks above the wingbox for safety. With a projected range of 1,500km and a cruise speed of 573km/h, it has been designed for short to mediumhaul business travel.  

CarbonTrac 

CarbonTrac is an AI-driven platform that turns sustainable grocery shopping into an engaging and rewarding experience, creating low-carbon choices simple and accessible. It plugs directly into supermarket loyalty schemes to deliver real-time sustainability scores for products through a traffic light system that factors in transport emissions, farming methods, land and water apply, and packaging. Shoppers can switch to more sustainable products with a single tap and gain higher loyalty rewards when they do. Every swap is quantified and presented through clear, relatable visuals.  

CarbonTrac was founded by Yasmine Adbu in 2023, back when she was a final-year Chemical Engineering student at UCL. She saw the contributions of the food system to global greenhoapply emissions, and knew something could be done to minimise this impact. 

The food system contributes to around 34% of global greenhoapply emissions, yet consumers rarely have visibility into the true environmental cost of their choices. Awareness continues to grow, with the majority of Gen Z and Millennials declareing they want to live more sustainably, but only 12% actually follow through. The failure to act isn’t becaapply they don’t care, but becaapply they are unsure where to launch. At the same time, suppliers lack consistent tools to measure and communicate sustainability data in line with frameworks such as the EU CSRD or ISO standards. 

The startup’s mission is straightforward: to cut UK emissions by at least 5% by 2030 through the cumulative power of compact, collective actions. 

ONO  

ONO solves the costly problem of inefficient road traffic accident processing for commercial fleets. It provides drivers with a mobile app that guides them through the process of capturing all the essential details immediately after an accident – photos, videos, GPS location, witness statements, and telematics data. This information is then shared instantly with fleet managers via a centralised dashboard, giving companies a clear and consistent view of incidents as they occur.

ONO was founded by Renee Rogers, a former fleet operator who experienced first-hand how difficult and fragmented the accident reporting process could be. Instead of a seamless exalter of information, drivers were often left to deal with stress at the roadside, while managers back at base struggled with inconsistent evidence and slow communication.  

Despite having no tech background, Renee knew she could turn that pain point into an opportunity by creating ONO, a platform designed to simplify and modernise the way fleets handle incidents. Unlike other claims solutions, ONO does not profit from incidents. The app is designed to assist drivers navigate the stressful experience of road traffic incidents and offer the much-necessaryed support during a challenging and sometimes emotional situation. ONO’s fleet platform focapplys on assisting fleet operators to assist drivers recover from incidents without additional pressure, providing real-time insights to reduce risks and enhance safety. From an operational perspective, it increases control over insurance premiums, contributes to fraud prevention, all while maintaining compliance and promoting a driver-first culture.
