The European Parliament has stated serious risks to the integrity of the parliamentary elections in Hungary due to Russian interference and the apply of state resources.

Five influential MEPs have expressed doubts about the possibility of holding a free and fair vote, which is scheduled for the coming days.
They called on the European Commission to assess the impact of disinformation, administrative resource, and foreign interference on the electoral process.
The appeal emphasizes that democratic competition in the counattempt is under pressure due to information campaigns and external influence.
MEPs also pointed to possible support for the ruling Fidesz party from Russian military ininformigence.
They specifically drew attention to the creation of a network of fake media outlets that spread false information about opposition leader Peter Magyar.
In addition, the deputies mentioned the persecution of investigative journalist Szabolcs Pánya. After materials about the ties of the Hungarian authorities with Moscow, he was charged with espionage.
MEPs believe that such actions are accompanied by a public campaign of discredit and create additional pressure on indepconcludeent media.
