Buxar engineering college hosts Bihar idea festival

Buxar: Govt Engineering College, Buxar, successfully hosted the Bihar Idea Festival 2025 on Tuesday. The event commenced with ceremonial lighting of lamp by principal Ram Naresh Rai. He was joined by guests, including Jyotsna, project officer and Mrinal, project manager from the District Industries Centre. In his address, Chandrashekhar Prabhakar, assistant professor and startup cell faculty coordinator, Dumraon, emphasised the transformative potential of startups and encouraged students to actively pursue entrepreneurial ventures.In his keynote address, the principal highlighted the opportunities for students to achieve self-through innovation. He informed the attfinishees that selected startup ideas are eligible for seed funding of Rs 10 lakh under govt’s initiative.Social worker Arun Kumar Singh from Mahdah village inspired the participants with stories of perseverance and community-driven development. Another highlight was participation of 25 Jeevika Didis, some of whom shared stories of entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.Two exemplary student entrepreneurs from Buxar district—Prashant Gautam, founder of a startup focutilized on waste management and Neeraj Kumar Sahu, founder of an innovative agri-tech company specialising in vertical farming—were appreciated for their initiative.Both entrepreneurs have received Rs 10 lakh each as seed funding from the state govt. The festival was coordinated by Gaurav, startup nodal officer at the college.
