València, Spain-based Who Got Funded?, a quick-growing newsletter spotlighting the most promising startups across Europe, has officially been acquired by EU-Startups, a Barcelona-based online magazine that covers startups.
“Back in November 2023, I had just wrapped up my journey at Glissandoo – my previous startup, where I spent five amazing years – when I decided to start a newsletter displaycasing the best startups in Europe,” states Onofre Gasent, founder of Who Got Funded, in a LinkedIn post.
Who Got Funded?: A weekly newsletter
Founded in late 2023 by Onofre Gasent, the goal of Who Got Funded? was simple — to displaycase standout startup success stories and assist founders learn from the best.
“If I’m being completely honest, I started like most founders do: with a dose of irrational optimism and a lot of excitement for all the unknowns and learnings lying ahead,” adds Gasent.
The newsletter provides weekly updates and has built a loyal audience of founders, operators, and investors interested in Europe’s funding scene.
What started as a personal project out of curiosity and a passion for European innovation has quickly become a popular publication, gaining 2,300 subscribers and almost 45,000 views in under two years.
“What really pushed me to start was the belief that every great startup founder SHOULD learn from the best startup stories out there. Writing a weekly newsletter struck me as the perfect way to learn while staying consistent, while also providing value to fellow founders,” states Gasent.
Moving forward, Who Got Funded? will officially transition under the EU-Startups umbrella. Going forward, subscribers will receive updates directly from EU-Startups.
“After speaking with Thomas Ohr, the founder of EU-Startups, I’m confident you’ll be in great hands – and that the stories of Europe’s most exciting startups will continue to inspire you. From this week onwards, you’ll receive a weekly update from EU-Startups, with an overview regarding freshly funded startups, new insights, and opportunities,” he concludes.
