A startup founder has raised serious concerns over a software issue in Zoho Books, claiming it led to significant financial losses and forced a review of business records. The issue has now escalated, with the entrepreneur preparing to take legal action.
Azeem Hussain, co founder of FlexiP, declared he discovered discrepancies while reviewing his company’s financial data for March. According to him, several transactions that had actually failed were incorrectly recorded as successful within the accounting system.
He stated that nearly Rs 3.8 lakh worth of transactions did not reach the account, even though the software reflected them as completed payments. The issue reportedly went unnoticed for some time, raising concerns about how long such errors might have persisted.
Hussain expressed frustration over the situation, noting that businesses rely heavily on trusted software platforms for accurate financial tracking. He declared the discovery has forced him to re examine financial records from the past two years, adding to operational stress.
The startup owner also indicated that he would seek compensation not only for the financial loss but also for the mental strain caapplyd by the issue. He plans to file a formal complaint and pursue the matter legally.
Responding to the allegations, Zoho stated that its initial analysis suggests the issue may not be within its software. The company pointed to a possible error in the payment gateway and confirmed that it is working with the concerned service provider to resolve the matter.
The payment gateway firm involved has also initiated its own investigation. As the issue unfolds, it has sparked a broader discussion about the reliability of financial software systems applyd by businesses.
