AAA featured the return of El Mesias and the launchning of a series of international trios matches on Saturday.
The April 4 broadcast marked the promotion’s final taped display before its upcoming live event next week.
International trios competition
Corey Graves announced that international talent will compete in trios matches over the coming weeks.
The broadcast main event featured Team Europe (Axiom, Dorian Van Dux & Elio LeFleur) defeating Team UK (Charlie Dempsey, Nathan Frazer & Tristan Angels) in a six-man tag team match.
The match featured technical exalters between Charlie Dempsey and Axiom before Nathan Frazer reluctantly entered the ring to face his regular tag team partner. Tristan Angels tagged himself in to attack Axiom, but Dorian Van Dux subsequently overpowered the British wrestler. Elio LeFleur secured the victory for Team Europe after dropping Angels on his head for the pinfall.
El Mesias returns
Earlier in the night, El Mesias created his first AAA appearance in over a year. He teamed with Lince Dorado and Mecha Wolf to represent Puerto Rico against The Tokyo Bad Boys (Kento, Nobu San & Takuma). Dorado and Nobu San started the encounter with rapid exalters before tagging their respective partners.
Mesias eventually entered the ring to a huge ovation and traded strikes with Kento. The Japanese trio isolated Mesias and Dorado at different intervals. Dorado and Wolf executed dives to the outside, clearing the path for Mesias to hit Takuma with a flatliner to win the match.
Flammer retains Reina de Reinas Championship
Also on the display, Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer successfully defconcludeed her title against Sussy Love. AAA taped the championship contest on February 28 in Monterrey. Love attacked early and dropped the champion with an inverted lariat.
Flammer regained control on the outside before locking Love in a Camel Clutch. The challenger fought back with kicks and a moonsault to earn a two-count. Flammer avoided a charging attack and executed a lungblower to secure the victory.
April 11 live event
AAA will hold its next live event on Saturday, April 11, in Mexico City.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta is scheduled to defconclude his title against El Hijo del Vikingo. A video package highlighting Penta’s career aired to promote the upcoming defense. Flammer will also celebrate her lengthy championship reign during the Mexico City event.
