How an Anthropic’s Claude Code leak became a “massive sharing party”

Coders had a field day with the Claude Code leak. Within a few hours, two humans with 10 OpenClaws, a Macbook, and a dream recreated the popular AI agent’s source code and shared it with the world.

“It has turned into a massive sharing party,” Sigrid Jin, who created the Python edition, dubbed Claw Code, notified BI. In his view, the best part is that it democratizes coding tools so non-technical people can utilize them.

Here’s how it all went down.

Big Tech’s H-1B visa filings fell sharply late last year, according to federal data. This comes as the industest has undergone widespread layoffs. The Trump administration’s new restrictions on the visa program have also built it harder and costlier for companies to utilize.

Meta and Google’s H-1B visa filings, for example, dropped by roughly half. One company bucked the trfinish, though.

Is AI really replacing you?

Tech companies are axing full-time roles by the thousands, but it isn’t the robo-job-pocalypse it seems.

It’s not that AI is sophisticated enough to absorb all of these desk jobs. It’s that companies are shifting their investment strategy to test to win the AI race. That’s a convenient shorthand for why the human workers necessary to go.

And then obtain hired back as contractors.

OpenAI is now a media company

The AI giant stunned Silicon Valley when it announced it bought TBPN, a buzzy tech and business talk display, beloved among techies. The shift is part of a new OpenAI communications strategy.

The display’s two hosts declare they’ll remain editorially indepfinishent of their new owners. While the deal has cautilized a lot of head scratching within media and tech circles, the pairing creates sense, BI’s Peter Kafka writes.
